Musics of Cameroon: Cyril Effala

Cyril Effala is deceased Thursday June 9, 2005 at the general hospital of Yaounde.
Cyril Effala is before all a song writer. He juggles with the words to make of them small stories which are as many bitter arrows and full with humour. He depicts these small moments of the life or raises more serious questions but which always touch those who can listen.

Accustomed cabarets in which he is accompanied with the guitar, he counts 2 albums with his credit.

His song "Monsieur l'Abbé" gave him a certain recognition in Cameroun. A little too exclusive perhaps since some know it only as "Monsieur l'Abbé".
