Mongo Beti was born in Cameroun during French protectorate. He has followed studies in Paris and Aix.
He has taught then a long time in Rouen. His engagement for freedom maintained him far from his country where he is finally returned in 1994. He has created
there the "Bookshop of the black people" in Yaounde.
He has written several novels in the protestor vein where he denounces the evils of colonization and the maffia drifts
of the post-colonial system. He is deceased in October 2001.

Francis Bebey was born on July 15, 1929. After studies in France where he forms a group with Manu Dibango,
he embarks to the USA. He returns to France like man of radio and works at the current RFI station.
In 1968, he obtains the great literary price of Black Africa for "the son of Agatha Moudio"
