Musics in Cameroon: outline

The music is omnipresent in Cameroon. Morning to evening and evening to morning the loudspeakers spit of the sound. Cabarets, night clubs, circuits... places where to listen to popular music do not miss.

Makossa, bikutsi and dombolo Kmer sauce fight battle to the domination of the Congolese music very appreciated and to the American negro musics poured by television and which collect the favour of young people.

One will find here a selection, very limited, of some cameroonian artists in very different styles. Some are more listened outside the country. Some cameroonian musicians do indeed not live in the country any more and their mixed music approaches more of the Western standards though they remain very appreciated in their country.
