North Cameroon

North, it is the touristic part of Cameroon with its natural reserves and its traditional villages. But it is also the least developed part. Apart from tourism, confined at some places, the cotton which is exported, seems to be the only other source of income. North it is already a Sahelian climate. The landscapes, the habitats point out Mali. Even the food practices are those of the Sahelian countries with amongst other things the ball of millet and its green sauce (thô in Mali)

It is also an area with Moslem predominance, although certain animists make resistance and that catholic missions still try...

To discover by foot

North is favourable for trekkings. The small mountainous massifs, where the animists withdrew themselves to flee the projection of the Moslems coming from North, offer many possibilities of walks through villages which remained far from modern civilization.
The attraction of the latter inevitably depopulates these mountains and involves the disappearance of their culture.
